HESA BLACK HANCOCK, aka “Pecos”, is currently in Texas winning ribbons in the show pen and enjoying the riders of all ages he carries on his back. He is the spitting image of his sire, ONCE YOU GO BLACK, and is highlighting his cow horse bred ancestors of Hydrive Cat, Highbrow Cat. Pecos’ dam is no light weight either as she carries the Hancock name as well as the Top Gun handle from King Ranch Texas. Although our family operation is in Tennessee, we acquire the best SIRES’ sperm in the country to make sure our breeding stock can compete with the best. And Pecos is proving that!! This gelding can do it all. If you compete in cutting and or cow horse related disciplines and you REALLY want to win, this stud colt and you could win all the fun!! Pecos" is a solid black gelding with a magnificent disposition. He is 5th generation cow bred, and has the pedigree to become anything cow you want him to be: Cutter, Working Cow Horse or Reiner. He has a superb mind, is smart, calm with quick feet. He was started by our owner/breeder/trainer that gives the youngster time to be a horse out in the pasture with other youngsters; then gives "Pecos" the opportunity to learn to be a responsible up and coming horse able to be started under saddle. Take a good look at "Pecos" to see if he would be a good fit with you and your program. He is expected to finish out around 14 hands. UPDATE 2022. PECOS has been in Texas on a working cattle ranch. He has wet saddle pads 6 days a week. 4 days a week he is learning the ropes doing everyday ranch work. 2 days a week he is on the mechanical cow and/or cow trac.
