Remington, our handsome Appaloosa/Paso Fino Cross gelding, is ready to find his forever home.
**Ground Manners and Riding:**
- **Politeness:** Remington is exceptionally well-mannered both on the ground and in the saddle.
- **Herding Behavior:** He falls within the medium to low range in the herd hierarchy.
- **Gaits:** Remington boasts a quick and smooth walk, and he's naturally gaited.
- **Cold Back:** While he can be slightly cold-backed, taking your time during saddling ensures his comfort. ( he almost ever reacts anymore)
**Personality and Sensitivity:**
- **Sweet and Sensitive:** Remington loves treats and approaches the gate eagerly when it's mealtime, or to visit his humans.
- **Noise Tolerance:** He's accustomed to nearby gunshots.
- **Catching and Haltering:** Although infrequent, he may be a tad nervous during catching and haltering. However, this behavior has improved significantly.
- **Suitability for Children:** Remington is not recommended for children due to his sensitivity and speed, don't get me wrong my daughter loves riding him, I just lead them since she's so young.
He requires a rider who can read horses well and apply appropriate pressure.
**Versatility and Registrations:**
- **Trail Horse:** Remington's quick recovery rate makes him an excellent choice for trail riding.
- **Longer Rides:** Whether exploring dirt roads or arenas, he'll keep up with ease.
- **Registration History:** Although some registries have changed ownership or closed, Remington was once triple registered. Consider registering him as a Walkaloosa or Singlefoot horse. His Spanish Jannet (Tiger horse) registry no longer exists.
- **Health and Maintenance:** He's barefooted right now,
has coggins.

Hay costs and too many horses to manage and with homeschooling, I find it challenging to give Remington the attention and riding he deserves.
