Shrek is a magnificent 7 year old Percheron/ Quarter Horse gelding standing a true 16 hands with a classy look, plenty of bone and substance. A perfect combination of athleticism, disposition, and versatility; Shrek excels in any discipline you choose!
Progressing steadily in the dressage ring and shows unlimited potential to carry you through the levels having also dabbled in XC! If the show ring isnβt your scene, no worries! Shrek is perfectly content trail riding on a loose rein alone or in a group. He is sure-footed, honest and quiet over any terrain or obstacle. Despite his size, he is soft and easy to ride with 3 lovely gaits, a solid handle, and exceptional ground manners to boot!
Shrek is used consistently on a yearling operation in central Texas where he helps gather, sort, and ship cattle, rope & doctor the sick, and relocate strays. He is no stranger to a hard days work and has seen all aspects of chores from opening and closing gates to dragging calves to the fire. He has done two tours of spring and fall works at numerous ranches including the 6666βs and the Link Ranch where he has obtained quite the fan club!
Shrek is known nationwide as his adventures have spanned from the rolling hills of Kentucky to the snow-capped mountains of northern Montana all the way back down to the coast of Texas! He has seen the bright lights of the roping pen and the chaos of town and traffic.
His resumé, no matter how impressive, is unmatched with his one-of-a-kind personality⦠this horse brightens your day everytime you come to the barn. He will greet you with a nicker from the stall or canter to the pasture gate. Not a mean bone in his body and a perfect gentleman to be around and handle in any capacity.
