Diggin is a stunning dapple grey OTTB gelding. He is flashy, friendly, kind, and athletic with no restrictions. He was track trained but did not race.

He was restarted slowly with a focus on groundwork and relaxation. Diggin rides both English and Western. He responds well to seat and leg cues, and he will patiently accept an incorrect cue. He is more of a push ride and will move out when asked.

Diggin has an excellent brain - he is happy to do arena work for as long as you’d like. He enjoys trail riding with a confident lead horse. He is curious, willing, and very smart. He has done work with ground poles, tarps, barrels, and patterns. He has had one jumping under saddle session and seemed to enjoy it. He rides alone or with others in the arena. He has marvelous ground manners - he is skilled at lunging, free lunging, ground tying, and knows a bit of showmanship.

He has a wonderfully rhythmic, swinging walk and floating trot that would excel in the dressage ring. He has solid legs that were made for cross country. He has the potential to be a fantastic sport horse for an amateur or dedicated teenager working with a trainer.

He is a magnificent, athletic, gorgeous horse, so why is he for sale? It’s me - not him. My job and location changed, and I’m (sadly) at a point in life where I have not been able to provide the time Diggin enjoys and deserves. As an adult amateur, I also don’t have the expertise or training program available in my new location to move him forward in his career. He's ready for his next person, and he'd love someone who is looking for their next heart horse.

Diggin has been graciously accepting of my time restraints. He allows me to not ride for a week or more, and I can still get on him and have a nice ride. He loves to have a job and is happy for any time I can give. He will thrive with consistency and a purpose - and he muscles up nicely. In the video link, he had not been ridden for about a month.

He is an open book, very friendly, and loves people. He also enjoys being friends with the barn cats. He is easy to catch, cross ties, direct ties, stands well for the vet and vaccinations, easily accepts dewormer, and is a all-around easy horse to have at a barn. He is low on the pecking order and can be turned out with mares and geldings.

His next partner will need to work with him on his canter and practice with leads. He does not consistently load easily onto the trailer. He can be nervous and distracted in new places. Mostly, he needs experience to become confident at shows. He is willing to learn if you are willing to teach him.

Diggin is looking for someone with experience who will give him a job, love him, treat him kindly and fairly, and be consistent with riding. PPEs are welcome. He is UTD on everything. He will be sold with a contract, and references will be requested.
