Meet Spirit! He is a 7 year old haflinger cross pony gelding. 11.3h and VERY stout. Definitely can hold a small-medium adult. Spirit needs a confident rider because he is not a confident horse-Needs at least an advance beginner with a trainer or a confident intermediate rider.
He has so many great qualities! He is pretty much the most adorable pony you have ever seen. Spirit is VERY smart (my girls have been teaching him tricks), a quick learner and super friendly. He is the first to meet us in the pasture and loves people. He has spurts of high energy, but can also be very chill.
He is the easiest keeper you have ever met. In fact, I think he gets fat on air. No maintenance AND has a built in fly mask😆. Middle of the herd, lives with minis (one above him), a mini donkey, and a big horse. Stands very well tied and bathed. Hauls great. Up to date on vaccines, coggins, farrier and teeth (all of which he did very well with).
Selling because I was looking for a beginner kid-safe horse when I got him. He does much better when worked consistently but needs more time than we have available. He is very unsure about new things and spooks easily. Little to no show experience. We took him to two shows for showmanship only-he did well in one, anxious at another. Same with trail riding-did well with one ride, very anxious on another.
No bite, kick, rear, always willing when being worked with. We have ridden him at a W/T, but he needs more work and to lose some weight to canter comfortably.
