With beautiful, engaged movement and a fantastic length of stride, MF Proud Chieftain can add size and substance without losing quality of gait. He also offers a highly athletic uphill build with a great top line and shoulder angle, allowing for significant impulsion and self-carriage. This, united with his natural jumping ability, makes him an ideal breeding stallion for performance with many attributes for improving upon a mare.
While just embarking on his performance career with a USDF Gold Medalist, Proud Chieftain is showing exceptional aptitude for dressage while displaying the excellent jumping bascule for which Irish Draughts are renown. In addition to his workman attitude and engaged movement, he carries the performance bloodline of Skippy, who sired international Advanced Eventing stallion Jumbo (ranked in the top ten of the WBFSH’s Eventing Sire Rankings for seven consecutive years and who produced multiple Badminton, Burghley and Lexington winners) and Clover Hill (five consecutive years ranked on the IHB’s list of sires of successful show jumpers).
He has been tested at UC Davis and is confirm not to be a carrier for any of the following: HWSD, WFFS, SCC, PSSM1.
He is color tested ee/aa.
All foals sired by MF Proud Chieftain can be registered with the Irish Draught Society of North America regardless of mare registration status or breed. Westfalen Verband NA foals will be eligible for white paper registration.
A discounted stud fee of $850 for fresh/cooled breeding services is available for mares with documented performance records and includes a two-year live foal guarantee.
