We are offering one of our personal family horses to the perfect family. One incredible and proven youth horse. Super flashy black quarter/pony gelding. He is 6 yro, stands 14 hands. Don’t let his age fool you, this well minded horse is more of a babysitter than any 25 year old rope horse. My kids are 5 and 8 years old and have put many of miles on him. Herschel is the type of horse I can go inside to fix us lunch while my kids are riding and know they are safe around him and on him while I’m away. He is a kind soul and always has been from the beginning. He has given countless lessons here at our place from ages 2 to 35 years old. We have hauled him to the fair rodeos where all the crazy commotion goes on and he handles it like a seasoned veteran. He’s been trail ridden and used to gather cows. For the little kids he will go as slow as you ask and the bigger kids he will lope around correctly with a great handle and an amazing stop. He will follow you around like a puppy dog on the ground with a very laid back personality and never gets pushy or hot. He’s been played with on barrels and roping as well and could very easily be finished. He loves attention and can stand all day long tied up without making a peep. Stands quiet and patient while being saddled, groomed, and bathed. He can be left off several months and when you get him back up he will be the same gentle horse you turned out. You can ride him bareback, double or however you choose to ride. He is big enough for a smaller adult as well. He is sound and has passed his PPE with flying colors. This horse is very near and dear to our hearts. After all the hours my family has spent with this horse I can say without a doubt you will be satisfied with the peace of mind Hershel will give to a parent who is looking for a kids horse.
