Meet Duke! Duke is the steady eddy, quiet, dependable, and safe mount that everyone is searching for. He is 16hh at 6 years old and is a Draftcross Horse. Duke is a handsome jet black gelding with a long thick mane and tail. He is built correctly in every way with good bone structure, clean legs, proportionate body, and strong hooves. Duke is a joy to ride and is easy to get along with. He walks, trots, and canters on a loose rein and has wonderful breaks. Say “whoa” and he tucks in his hind end and comes to a complete stop. Duke is a little more whoa than go which is great for any beginner or timid rider. He is in no rush to get anywhere. Duke rides both English and western. He has done countless of trail rides and has been hauled out to all the state and metro parks in Michigan. This fall Duke did a few hunter paces with some of our staff members. He is also been used as a carriage horse and is very well broke in harness. He stands to be harnessed and hooked and will drive quietly in any situation. He’s been used single and double and is 100% traffic/road safe. He has been lightly started over fences and is learning the fancier buttons like side passing, pivoting, and flying changes. We think Duke would do well as a lesson horse, family horse, trail horse, or low level show horse. Duke is a horse anyone can ride, love, and enjoy! Located in Howell MI 48855.
