Budha Steals Smoke (aka Zen) has it all. A good mind, athleticism, and a training foundation that was built to last. He has been with me since he was 2 years old, and I can assure you he is one of the most solid horses I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I started him under saddle ~30 days after buying him, and his first ride could not have gone any better. In the two years I've ridden him, I have never fallen off of him. No buck, no bolt, no rear. (His first ride is posted on my youtube channel if you'd like to see it!) Zen has been trained using the downunder horsemanship method on the ground and under saddle. He has been extensively desensitized to all the spooky things, from bodies of water, to plastic bags, pool noodles, dogs, whips, feed bags, flags, tractors, cars, kids, cows, roping dummies, fireworks, the list goes on. Before putting the first ride on him, I also did some hobble training with him, primarily leading by the feet and laying him down, which served him very well as he got himself cast as a 2 year old in a panel. Most horses would thrash around and panic, but he just laid there and patiently waited for help. (I also have a video proof of this!) Since starting him, I have taken him on countless trail rides, have shown him in a local ranch riding schooling competition, ridden in clinics and classes with ~20 other horses in one arena with no issues, roped dummies, heel-o-matics, and live cattle (using a breakaway honda), and he has been a trooper through it all. He has a very solid stop, is learning to spin, rides on a loose rein comfortably at any gait, is a fan favorite for vets and kids alike, does very well in the pasture or in the stall, and is really just a pleasant horse to be around. Zen is by all accounts a friend to the world and a happy camper. Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or want to see more pictures/videos of him! I'd be more than happy to provide them.
