Sweets was started as a 4 year old and spent a year learning the ropes with my daughter who sadly outgrew him. She is 13 and has moved on to a horse now. This pony has been her first horse. We purchased him from a dude ranch in Colorado where he started as a trail horse. We brought him to Washington and put 90 days of professional training in a western pleasure barn and with Mark Bolender for mountain trail. My daughter competed with him in mountain trail this year and they took overall youth champion! He has a fantastic demeanor, loves attention, stands to be groomed, bathed and clipped and great for the farrier. He has great feet and goes barefoot. He has a solid walk, trot, canter, lope and a western jog. He goes over bridges, through water, conquers any single track trail, logging road or fallen logs on the trail. If you take the time to bond with him he will do ANYTHING for you. He keeps composed in a busy indoor arena full of horses and will even go over jumps. He is up to date on vet care, worming, dental, vaccines, farrier and is generally a solid citizen. He goes both English and Western. My daughter has just started roping with him. He does well with dogs, cats, chickens, farm equipment, etc. He is more woah than go so he will not be your gaming pony. He likes to be mentally stimulated and thinks carefully and is calm in new situations and I would love to see him go to a trail home. He is not afraid of cows or other wildlife. My daughter is now 13 and had a huge growth spurt this. year and this was a fantastic first horse for her.
