Axton is a super stout built, gelding, standing around 16 hands. He is four years old and is a Percheron/Quarter Horse Crossbreed! Axton has done everything from being ridden on a feedlot, roping/doctoring sick ones, loading trucks, and sorting pairs… he knows his way around cattle. He has been trail-ridden from ages 7 to 70 and is safe and gentle! He has been ridden by 1, 2, and even three kids at a time. He has been ridden in a big country with steep, rough elevations. He is a laid-back, gentle type of horse that still has all the buttons. He is one hand broke, will rein around, open/shut gates, has a smooth trot with a very nice lope and good stop, and backs with ease. Axton is great on the trails, and he will cross creeks, ditches, and logs and navigate rough, rocky areas. He is safe riding in traffic. Axton has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife, such as deer or turkey, or other animals like cows or dogs, and will go anywhere he is asked to. He has ridden many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and all types of rough terrain while still being sure-footed. In addition to riding, Axton is harness-broke and has been driven on busy highways and through town, single and double. He drives great and is easy to drive. In addition to riding Western, he will go English and is a good Jumping prospect. Axton is a great horse for anyone with work to do on the ranch. If you want to mosey along down the trails or if you want to hook up the cart for a Sunday stroll… the whole family will love him!
