Shiok is a Tennessee Walking Horse, dark bay,black & white pinto gelding standing at 15.1 hands tall and 13 years old. He has a blue eye on the black part of his face and a brown eye on the white side, which is a rare feature in horses. He is the true meaning of an all around horse. Shiok is broke for just about anybody who can hold the reins - kids from 6 yrs old to grandpas of 78 years old have ridden him - he’s easy to ride, has a very smooth 4-beat gait and is naturally comfortable to ride in all of his gaits. Shiok is light in contact and responsive off leg pressure and vocal commands, can be ridden western or english, bareback and neck reins. Shiok is very gentle, stoic in nature and tough, completely bomb-proof and has a curious & kind nature. He has a unique look and markings, and his natural beauty and elegance turns heads and gets him compliments anywhere he goes. Shiok was ridden 1500mi under saddle, injury and sickness free, from Texas to Washington in 117 days by his owner Cyril Bertheau (@2raw2ride on social media). Shiok will ride anywhere, any time without ever complaining and will go long days under saddle without ever slowing down. Furthermore, he has extensive experience with overnight camping trips, is hobble broke and adapts to new environments exceptionally well, since that’s what he had to do every day on the cross country ride. Performs great both as leader or follower in groups; really shines as a lead horse but can be used as a pack horse if needed. Shiok has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, bears, goats, lamas, cattle, dogs, snakes among others. He’s ridden anywhere from the side of major highways, to the deep and brushy backcountry, to highly crowded, loud & busy areas such as downtown Austin, TX. He has been ridden many miles in the mountains of Wyoming, Idaho & Montana and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Shiok will ride in all sorts of weather conditions from snow & hail to scorching heat. No matter what is put in front of him he carries on unfazed to please his owner.
