. Derby was also successful at his first try at Western Dressage with scores in the high 60's and 70*s placing 1st.Level 1 test 1. He was very successful at the National Pony Cup. scoring in the mid. 60 's. 10 Yr. Old, GVHS registered Gypsy Vanner gelding offered for your consideration. Chrome Derby of Thistleridge aka "Derby" is looking to take his next rider to the next level. He has been there done that, including breed shows, county fairs, drill team presentations in front of large, high-energy audiences. Loves to show. This sensible, gorgeous guy jumped into the local dressage schooling show series and ended up AA training level champion with scores in the high 60's. He has been shown in hand and under saddle, English and Western, with a junior rider at breed shows and earned High point and championships. His current ride stands at 5'7 and he carries her with ease. Together they look like a million bucks. He doesn't only have to be shown, he will go down the trail, or ride out in the pasture, is road safe and always up for obstacles including a few jumps that he loves to do with ease.
He is ready to advance in classical or western dressage, hunters, Western trail or showmanship. Derby's as steady as they come and can work off the trailer with little prep for shows.
The handsome guy is only for sale to keep advancing and moving forward as he thrives on new challenges. He is very adaptive to new riders from novice to highly experienced riders. He also loves attention and a good spa day, which is wonderful considering his amazing hair. No vices, good for bathing, clipping, farrier, hauling and being tied. PSSM1 negative. UTD on everything. He gets along well with other geldings in the pasture.
He is going to be missed as he chose us, and we have been blessed to have him since he was 18 months old. This was a hard decision, but we want what is best for him and we don't want to hold him back.
