2022 gelding by Its a Southern Thing and out of an Allocate your Assets mare for sale. Tex (It’s Al Going South) is an easy going, willing and personable guy. He’s currently 15.2 at the hip and 15.1+ hands at the wither. He strings to between 16 or 16.1. He has had some basic groundwork: lunges, clips, saddles, ground drives, has been sat on, good for farrier, ties and loads in the trailer. He’s a really good mover. I think he will make a super all around horse that leans a little more toward the English side. His long trot and canter are lovely. His slow jog is definite with great timing and evenness between diagonal pairs. He has a great work ethic and is so very willing to please; just like his dam. I’ve introduced a half dozen de-sensitizing items to him(feed sacks, umbrellas, balls, flags, tarps and pool noodles) and he was un-phased by all of them; grabbing them with his mouth to shake them in the air. He’s nominated to the NSBA breeders and Premier Sires programs. His dam is a 16.3 mare that has 100+ points and multiple top 10 placings at the world in three events. She drives and is a good pattern horse with a solid lead change. Shes able to be maintained at home by an amateur and I expect Tex to be the same. His grand dam is a congress winner in the HUS. Tex comes from a strong female line of top hunt seat and all around horses. There are several congress, world show and multiple national title winning horses with tons of points that have come from his dam’s line. Tex’s dam has produced three other half siblings. Two out of three have been to the show pen with significant success and the third one is just green broke. Of the two sisters shown; one has won the pinto world and the Tom Powers in the lunge line. The other half sister has multiple top tens in the non-pro HUS at the NSBA world. I have two older horses that are ready to show and don’t have the time to commit to Tex. This guy is a diamond in the rough for someone that has the time to commit to him. He’s a joy to be around:). He immediately comes to the fence when he sees someone because he’s so social and LOVES people.
