Kitty is a broke, 16 yo registered Quarter Horse, sorrel mare with some roan. She’s 14.3 hands, 1,000 lbs, and has an amazingly quiet, kind, sweet disposition. There isn’t a mean bone in her body- when teaching her new things, she doesn’t resist but quietly searches out the answer until she gets it right. She’s easy to catch, meets you at the gate with a nicker, stands quietly for the farrier, trailers, bathes, and clips. Kitty has natural horsemanship training, great ground manners, you can ride her bareback, pony off of her, has the absolute smoothest trot and canter, and a cute little stop. She rides with collection or slack in the reins, comes off your leg, canter departs, lopes on the correct lead, side passes, and leg yields. She has been used extensively as a trail horse most of her life- she crosses water, bridges, doesn’t spook, and can go out alone or with other horses. We even rode her at the National Western Stock Show parade through downtown Denver this year- she didn’t spook at the trains, traffic, thousands of yelling people, and construction. She was so solid while most of the other horses were scared. This horse has been exposed to a lot, takes everything in stride, and is a great all around horse. We’ve tracked cows on her and she is cowy, but considering she’s cutting bred, she is NOT hot or super watchy. She can sit for 6 months and when you get back on her, it’s like she was rode yesterday. She has impeccable cutting foundation bloodlines and could throw a well-bred foal. Her sire, Cattin, has LTE in NCHA of $133,872.23 and is a $1.5 million dollar sire. Kitty is a granddaughter of Smart Little Lena (NCHA-$577,652, LTE $743,275 and a $40.8 million dollar sire) and Son ofa Doc (NCHA LTE of $18,786.41). No health or lameness issues, no vices, is UTD on shoeing, vaccinations, and worming. She will be due for spring shots and teeth floating. Because she has more whoa than go, she would be best suited for an intermediate rider. She needs someone with experience that confidently ask her to go.
