'PORTIA CAYENNE AFIRE' is a well-bred, and high-quality Mare. She has much to offer the right partner. Please, read Portia's full ad and watch the video until the end. 3 different riders. Second rider (the longest section of video) had not ridden Portia before and was a spur of the moment ride (definitely in the rough), after not being ridden since late last Summer/Early Fall. I have been on and off the fence with rehoming Portia for several years now (no fault of hers). Unfortunately, the time has come to let her go to a new home. My Husband and I are wanting to retire and are needing to cut back in some areas... horses being one. Portia had many years professional training and was shown before we purchased in 2016 (trained through 2nd level dressage/schooling 3rd, and shown Hunter Pleasure, Halter+). Portia has a noteworthy pedigree, both top and bottom (pedigree below). Own daughter of Champion Stallion 'Justafire DGL', and Granddaughter of Numaa++ (on Dam's side). She is DNA typed, and Sweepstakes Nominated. Evaluated on her conformation and movement as a prospective PSG, National level horse by international Judges when younger, and is still gorgeous, with fluid movement (video doesn't do justice). She doesn't require any special care, medications, etc. No health issues and is up to date on shots (4-way flu/tet), de-worming, hoof trim, and dental. Portia's well behaved for farrier work (can hold her foot up with one finger) and for vetting (pre-purchase exam is welcome). Portia gets along with other horses when she's turned out in the pasture, or she can be by herself. Doesn't get upset by herself and is easy to halter, and bring in when it's time to come in. She has great stall manners and is neat in her stall and paddock area. Portia appreciates soft hands, and a balanced seat. With a knowledgeable rider, where you look, is where she goes (when she's in sync with rider). Portia's been ridden by different ages/levels of riders since we've had her (beginner-novices with supervision/instruction, intermediate+ riders on their own after they've shown that they can work independently). My first choice of partners is a confident teen/adult intermediate rider, someone light-handed with a quiet seat. She has lots of buttons (training), just needs riding. Portia enjoys being doted over (without being spoiled) and will make someone a lovely riding partner. An assortment of blankets, leather halter with name engraved, neck cover, leg wraps+ go with her. Must meet to appreciate. Video doesn't show her good manners, far as handling, tacking up, grooming, mount/dismount with or without mounting block, etc. Also, she doesn't have such a swishy tail when she knows what she's supposed to do (expected). $5850/cash (firm), to a well-suited home. Multiple visits welcome, to make sure of a good fit. Please call (three-six-zero)366-3631 (landline, no text), for more information. Thank you.
