After weighing what is best of us and our sweet girl, we have decided to offer our mare Aspen for your consideration. First, we are going to be extremely picky about where she lands, and it will be with a "first right of refusal buy back" if she is ever sold. Aspen is a 5 y/o mare that we raised, so she has been with us her entire life. (As was her dam, and her granddam). She is the first horse to greet you, has just the kindest temperament, and is looking to always please. She has had about 30 days professional training in the start of her riding life at 3, and we took her and have ridden her off in real life experiences since then. She has been ridden enough to be solid at just about anything you want to do with her, but never ridden hard or abused. She is brave, she is solid and pretty unflappable at all we have ever introduced to her. She can be laid off for months, and comes back the same horse you left. She may have a spring in her step for the first little bit, but never broncy or a rebel. Been on miles of trails and different terrain, loads and hauls well, great for routine care (vet, farrier), easy keeper, uncomplicated in all ways. No vices, or bad habits, and gets along well with other horses. She is lower in the pecking order in our group. She has also been around dogs, goats, chickens, cattle, and even pigs. We have had several encounters with Elk, deer, and smaller wildlife as well. Aspen sustained an injury while we were at the ranch in WY that has left her with some calcification in her left knee, that will be part of her the rest of her life. She can walk/trot/canter, however limiting her canter work will keep her happier. She has had one injection and rode all year without a hitch. She will not be a good candidate for an everyday job or super hard athletic career, but will be great for pleasure riding, enjoyment of doing fun days, occasional cattle work, ect. She is a stellar trail horse, careful and confident. She is out of very good bloodlines, however, she is not papered, due to an AQHA rule years dating back to her granddam (being cremello, which they did not register back in the day - many years ago). Anyway, she is Two Eyed Jack on the dam side, and sired by Liscious Loper (One Hot Invitation). Needless to say she is a pretty mover as well as good minded. Beautiful in every way. I have not put a stick on her, but would guess 14.3 h. I will get an accurate measurement. Serious inquiries ONLY! To an approved and perfect fit home only. We don't have to sell her, but think it would be best for our situation and her. One of our horses is alway alone when we take the other two riding, and our horses quite frankly pick on her and she deserves more. Private message for price, located in Fort Collins. Price will reflect her worth, however, we are most concerned with the perfect fit home. PS - I do have some video of her about a month ago, just some ra
