EDIT: On May 9, 2024 I spoke with the trainer who worked with Trixie last summer when I had Trixie with her for a tune up. Jill said that if anyone had questions she would be happy to talk to them. Jill actually rode Trixie more than I did because I had an injury that precluded me from riding for 6 months. If you would like to talk to Jill send me a response and I will put you in touch. Trixie is a mare I purchased in January 2023 and had shipped to me from KY. She had raised a few foals before I bought her. After a little bit of a tune up she was standing nicely at the mounting block, I could open and close gates while mounted, and enjoyed some trail rides. She loads nicely. When she arrived she was great for farrier on 3 feet but I had to practice lifting her left rear and holding. She now stands great for her trims. She is a very nice mare but more whoa than I like. She had vaccines and dental done in June 2023. Originally I was asking $4500 for Trixie but have reduced her price to $4000. Cons: she doesn’t like being sprayed but will tolerate it if you go slow. She tends to be a little slow to trust new people but now approaches me when I head out to the pasture. At some point in her life someone left a halter on her too long causing a divit to form on her face. Luckily it is cosmetic only.
