W2 Horses is proud to offer W2’s Huckleberry Sunrise, a rare, registered Grullo Missouri Fox Trotter gelding affectionately known as Huck, a true gem, far from your average trail horse. If you want something extra special, look no further than this perfect 15.1 hand gelding, who just reached his prime and is turning eight years old this month! Huck’s beautiful conformation, long flowing mane, ground-dragging tail, and unique color are guaranteed to make him stand out. True to the rare Grullo color, Huck features a beautiful black dorsal stripe from the base of his mane to his tail, zebra stripes on his legs, black striping over his withers, dark tips on his ears, and dark points on his legs. His calm demeanor, kind heart, and exceptional skill level place him in a league of his own. We've had the pleasure of owning Huck for a year and a half, and his progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Huck's years under saddle have been spent exploring trails all over the country. As my personal mount, he's been a reliable companion, always eager to learn and willing to please. From groundwork to extreme trail riding, bridleless riding, bird hunting, tricks, lessons, and working cattle, Huck has proven his versatility time and time again. His smart, sensible, patient, and respectful nature makes him a pleasure to have around, both on the ground and in the saddle. Huck has a beautiful way of going with the most natural, smooth gait of any Fox Trotter I have ever owned. He is consistently smooth on any surface, bridle or no bridle, and requires no skill from his rider to make him gait smoothly. Huck also has a lovely lope and will lope both leads on cue in a circle or in a straight line. He neck reins perfectly one-handed, has a lovely side pass, backs easily, and has a great stop by simply responding to your seat. All of Huck’s transitions are smooth, and his cues are simple and easy! He knows them so well; he will ride just as perfectly, bareback and bridleless! He will always stand perfectly still for mounting, then wait for your cue to walk off, and he will side pass up to anything with the snap of your fingers to make mounting easy for you. Huck will even lie down on command with slight pressure on his neck from the ground or the saddle! Huck is as experienced as it gets on the trail and will willingly go anywhere you ask! He is always careful, sure-footed, and steady while taking his time maneuvering through tough trails. He will cross water, travel through the mud, and carefully work his way over down timber without hesitation. Huck has been ridden alongside four-lane highways and is great with all kinds of traffic. He has been desensitized and pays no mind to bicycles, wildlife, flags, bullwhips, wagons, fire, smoke, dogs, cattle, or machinery.
