I’ve owned Nelson since he was 4 months old. I honestly thought he would be more pony-sized, for grandkids, but he just kept growing! Anyway, he’s always been a very smart horse - learns and remembers everything I teach him. Unfortunately, he is not the right horse for me personally - I have others! I have used him as a lesson horse for the past 5 years, mostly with advanced beginners and above riders. They have all done just fine with him, but I really feel like this situation is holding him back. I would love to have him find his own person, who can dedicate the time he deserves to really develop into his amazing potential. He tends to really like confident and kind people who have a dressage background (that’s how I broke him, sometimes in Western tack!) He jumps nicely, but also will do a western jog. I think he would really like performance challenges, like working equitation. If you are looking for the horse of a lifetime, come and meet Nelson!
