Chili is truly a once in a lifetime horse, he has been ridden by complete beginners, kids, and experienced adults who all love him. He is amazingly willing with sweet, sane personality that everyone adores. I am only selling because I am in college and plan to go abroad this summer so I will unfortunately not have time to continue owning a horse. He has competed in eventing for 3 summers, as well as at local H/J and dressage shows. He consistently scores in the low-mid 20s at the beginner novice level. He has 3 lovely gaits with his flying change! He travels like a dream and will stand at a trailer or in a stall all day without fuss and is a safe, fun horse to take on trails in a group or alone. After finding some mild arthritis in his back, I decided to focus on his dressage and flat work, but with a properly fitted jump saddle I think he would be able to do light and low jumping (1 time per week and 2'-2'3). He has had no lameness, but was showing discomfort and tightness in his back. We have treated him with an injection of osphos which has really helped and will probably be best if he continues to get annual or bi-annual injections as well as having extremely well fitted saddles. He is a responsive horse under saddle in the best way and very smart, and he goes best with a rider who is light in their seat and hand. He is ready to go show 1st level this summer and could easily work up to 2nd level. Chili is low maintenance, goes barefoot, gets a vitamin e/omega 3 supplement, UTD on vaccines, has pastured with mares and geldings, turns out and stalls well, no vices, etc. He’s the type of horse that behaves the same even after a week off or traveling to a new place and is overall a very easy, enjoyable horse to have.
