After alot of thought, I’ve decided to offer my Percheron mare Mirabella for sale the right person/situation.
She is 13 year old & 18 hh. I’ve had her for 6 yrs & she was bounced around alot before I got her. We’ve worked through a good majority of her past issues, but she still needs some confidence building. She has strong opinions, but she’s so worth the effort. She’s not a snuggly, affectionate mare, but doesn’t bite, kick or rear. She requires someone that is confident, kind & fair.
She has nice gaits & rides English with some basic dressage moves from training before I bought her. We’ve had her on a short trail ride with another horse & she did well. We will be working more with her on this, along with more trailer training. She loads & unloads well, but it wasn’t always this way. We are making great progress with her.
She’s great for the vet & is UTD on vaccines, teeth floated Fall of 2023. (No sedation required)
She is barefoot & has amazing feet! She is trimmed every 6 weeks without stocks. She stands well on cross ties, stands quietly at the mounting block, stands for for baths & clippers.
She does require an advanced rider as she is just coming back into work & can give an unexpected spook if she’s worried about something. She has weekly lessons with our trainer in order to help her through this.
She is a proven brood mare & “takes” first try in the past. She does require sedation for AI. She’s a good mom & throws beautiful foals (her filly from 2021 is on site.) She did have a retained placenta with her last foal in 2023, so we gave her a year off.
She had a strain in her right hind & was treated for inflammation in her fetlock in the fall of 2021 & PRP was performed that one time. She has been sounds since with no additional maintenance needed. No jumping for this girl.
I’m really trying to find her “person” & an amazing forever home for her. I haven’t been able to really connect with her & I know that her person is out there somewhere.
