Illuminated Okie is a 16.2 hand (approximately) Thoroughbred gelding who was bred and raised in Oklahoma. Jax as he is known in the barn had a short race career and after some downtime in 2014 he started his over fences career. Jax has many miles showing in the hunters, jumpers and equitation rings however we have found that he much enjoys the laid back and relaxed lifestyle of the flatwork with some poles. He has no physical limitations however he is quirky over fences so he does require a confident rider for jumping. I have used him for some of my intermediate to advanced flatwork classes and he really thrives while teaching a more skilled student. Jax is quiet and relaxed on the flat as long as he has a soft quiet rider, and he always strives to please. He has done some trail riding and although he isn't the most confident horse he has found some joy in trail riding alongside the other horses. Jax has a beautiful and correct build and although the owners would love to keep him, his kid is off to college and she feels it's only fair to find him someone who can be a part of his next journey in life.
