Trigger is a beautiful 4-year-old crossbred gelding. He is a true blue roan in color and stands 16.2 hands tall. Trigger is a half-quarter horse and half-Percheron. He has the characteristics of a quarter horse with his athleticism, ride and speed and the characteristics of a Percheron with his size (big bone and foot) and his friendly demeanor and sound mind. Trigger is one of the most gentle and laid-back horses we have ever had the pleasure of owning. He is friendly, kind, and patient while being athletic, strong, and agile. His charming nature, sweet personality, beautiful color and build, and extensive skills make him the perfect all-around horse of a lifetime! Trigger rides and drives, does tricks, and trail rides. He knows his way around the ranch and is a pleasure to be around. Trigger has extensive experience in the indoor and outdoor arenas. He will lope circles, taking the correct leads both ways. He has a one-handed neck rein, a good stop, and a super smooth lope. He works off of leg pressure to turn, stop, back, and side pass. Trigger is responsive to the cues you give him and is always willing and obedient. Trigger is also a trick horse! He can lie down while being mounted or from the ground. He will also sit up like a dog and follow you around like one, too. He has had many hours in the round pen with liberty and natural horsemanship training. Trigger can side pass to a mounting block to be mounted (or anything else you choose to mount from). On the trail, Trigger is strong, safe, and surefooted. He has a vast knowledge of trail riding and handles all sorts of terrain and territory. He will go up and down steep hills with ease, through mud and deep water, and cross logs and ditches. He is a trustworthy mount all the way around. Our entire family has trail-ridden him, and he has even broken colts to lead by ponying them from him, even on the trail! Trigger is also an outstanding ranch horse. We have used him on our ranch to check, sort, and move cattle; he has even been pasture roped off of. We have also taken him to a large-scale cattle drive and round-up, where he was used to moving, catching, and sorting a few hundred heads of cattle on some rough terrain over the course of two days. His agility and speed impressed us while catching some rogue cattle. Even with his size and laid-back demeanor, he will get up and get you where you need to be when you need to be there when you ask him to! Trigger has also started driving and is taking to it very well. He has been driven to town and even taken to a church event to haul kids for wagon rides. He is quiet, calm, and obedient to your commands. He is completely traffic safe, and he is also used to tarps, whips, and guns and doesn’t mind all the commotion at all. Trigger has excellent ground manners and truly loves your attention. He is mindful of and respects your space but enjoys spending time with you. He gets along well with other horses and is easy to catch. He will come to you
