Meet Jig!! This 2017, 16hh gelding boasts some fine names in his pedigree, including Peptoboonsmal and Doc O’Lena. He had 30 days professional training as a 2yr old and then turned out until last fall. He has been carefully restarted and is ready to find his calling! Due to his stout size, he would excel in disciplines such as roping, ranch riding and cow work. Could even dabble in English disciplines with his long legs and aerodynamic conformation. He’s on the shy side, so he needs an assertive, confident rider to bring out his full potential. We are offering him as a prospect, he’s got the foundations and ready to be finished your way! He loads, ties (wall and crossties), clips, ground ties, bathes and is an total ham for the farrier. No dangerous behaviors or vices, he’s a perfect gentleman!
He's quite the pretty mover as well! He goes around in an elegant, cadenced frame at the walk and jog both ways, and is getting the hang of the lope. He’s starting to develop the stop and backs up nicely. Jig is proficient on turns on the forehand and side-passing, we’re polishing up his haunches turn . He has been hobbled, blanketed, ridden bareback and English, long-lined, lunged, swung a rope off him, worked cattle and has been lightly introduced to the gate, roping dummy and the cutting flag. He is very sure footed and loves being ridden on the range and through obstacle courses. Jig is an easy keeper and requires no special maintenance. He is also up to date on teeth, deworming, Coggins, shots and feet (barefoot). You will not go unnoticed with his flashy roan color!
