13 year old Red Roan Appy Gelding Cammo has been in training and his owners and I have concluded he is not the right fit. Cammo was sold as beginner safe and he is not beginner safe. Advanced rider recommended or someone working with a trainer. Cammo has been with us for 30 days of restart and is looking for a new home. Cammo is very quick and very catty, he is considered green under saddle. Cammo is a 13 year old red roan appy gelding standing about 15hh. He is UTD on coggins, vaccines, teeth and sheath cleaning. Goes barefoot and stands great for the farrier. Stands tied, crossties, stalls or can stay turned out 24/7. Super easy keeper currently on grass pasture and hay only. Never been lame. Loads into a straight load or slant load trailer. Pros: Cammo has great ground manners. Is very respectful. Yeilds hindquarter, shoulders, pivots, backs, walks and trots in hand. He free lunges or lunges on a line. Super responsive on a lunge line. He knows a few tricks, has the start of a lay down, knows curbside pick up at the mounting block. He stands to be groomed all day long, stands for fly spray and baths. Stands at the block to be mounted. He is easy to catch in the pasture, middle of the pecking order and respects electric fencing. Never tested the fence. He stands great to be saddled and is currently being ridden in a slow twist O ring bit. Stands great to be unsaddled. Was previously used as a cutting horse, we have not worked with on cattle. He will go through water no problem. He ponies great. Goes over ground poles, around standing poles and barrels. He will ride alone or with other horses, other horses moving does not bother him. Cammo would make a great speed horse, cutting horse, ranch horse or all around horse. He has great stamina. Is very quick and catty on his feet. Has a good stop to him. He is VERY smart and catches onto things very quickly. He is very stout, with a thick build. Cons: Cammo can be a little spooky about new things. His spook is usually a full body tense. But given the opportunity to examine he usually settles down and doesnt have a problem. He does want to move out and is very fast, so we have been working on walking, stopping, and backing with him at this time. He will ride w/t/c in a round pen comfortably. But due to his owners wants a slow trail horse we worked on the slower speeds and control. Asking mid/high 4 figures. Located in south west mi. Please message me for more information or to come set up a time to see him.
