2011 thoroughbred mare
Poppy is a stunning 16 hand thoroughbred mare. She has a lovely thick build and smooth confirmation. Poppy was restarted off the track in a hunter jumper program but an old injury to her left hind leg made it clear that she would not hold up to the work and would be best suited as a broodmare or recip mare. She is 100% pasture and broodmare sound.
Poppy has had one beautiful colt that went on to be a successful eventer.
She was easy to breed, easy in labor, and a wonderful, sweet mother. She has good feet, hauls easy, stands for baths and easy to handle over all. She’s well mannered in a stall or pasture and gets a long with other horses great! Poppy’s only vice is she will crib when confined.
This mare is truly a dream! She will make someone an amazing broodmare and produce some fabulous sport horses!
