Remy is a 5 year old off-track Thoroughbred mare. She last raced in February 2023 and had 6 months let down before being restarted. Remy is a really cool mare. Besides her striking markings, she’s funny and sweet, and wants to be your best friend. She can be a bit mareish at times and requires a confident handler. She takes correction well and wants to please and learns quickly. Remy does not want to be bad, but does need reminders sometimes. Saying that, Remy is great under saddle. She is honest and forgiving and tries very hard to please. She has been popped over small jumps and seems to really like it. She’s incredibly willing and a fun horse to ride, and anybody would be blessed to have such a great partner. She’s got great, steady gaits and would also do well for hunter classes or hunter over fences. She’s fast and athletic enough that she could also easily do gymkhana and barrel racing. All this being said, Remy is NOT a beginner’s horse. She’s a great candidate for someone working with a trainer, who may want to do lower level eventing or jumping. She requires confident, knowledgable handlers and riders, and prefers consistency. Remy did injure herself in pasture in early March. Since then she has been taking it easy and healing. She does have some filling in her back legs over her tendons. Radiographs came back clean though ultrasounds were not performed. She also sustained a hematoma in her back right quarter, which has since healed. Due to this, Remy only recently started back under saddle. She is doing great now, but has lost muscle conditioning. She is going great and just as willing to work under saddle as she is game for anything. Price does not reflect her training or her potential. Transparent and honest seller, I only want what’s best for the horse. PLEASE contact for photos/videos. I have videos from before March of her going under saddle and current videos of her lunging and going under saddle. UPDATE 7/25 Remy did not pass a PPE on 7/18. All I was informed was that she had "hind-end lameness and pain on palpation." We do not have any further information, and as such will be turning her out in pasture for a few months before re-evaluating her soundness. Remy would still be suitable for a recipient broodmare and will remain active on DreamHorse for that purpose.
