Don’t let the age fool you! Toby is a trail eating monster who tailors himself to his rider whether they are advanced or have never ridden. He came in for a tune up and sale and his owner graciously allowed me to take my time with him. He loves people and adventures and happily jumps on the trailer. He has gone camping and does great on the hi-tie. He is an easy keeper and easy to handle. He has been used to guide trail adventures as well as teach beginners how to ride. He goes out alone or in a group and will lead, follow or happily be anywhere in the pack. In the pasture he is on the submissive side. He is also an easy keeper. Toby has a great ground covering walk and will easily slow down or speed up when asked. He naturally has a higher headset but will also collect nicely when asked. He has a nice stride and is very sure footed in the mountains and on technical terrain. Toby has extensive ENGLISH AND WESTERN training and experience! He is very easy to catch and handle, no problem to put his fly mask on, stands for the farrier and can be wormed without a halter. Stands tied all day and never causes any issues with other horses. This is a really sweet fun guy with a lot of miles left. He seems to prefer both men and women and everyone that has met him and ridden him absolutely loves him. He has a cool personality and will make you fall in love! The only issue I’ve had with him is don’t leave anything in reach. He does like to get in to things. I hung a bridle next to him. He didn’t eat it but he did knock it on the ground. Another time he opened the side door of the trailer🤣 He is well conditioned and ready for a 25 mile limited distance (endurance) ride. Attached is his endurance record. Even though he has not done a ride since 2021, he has a lot of long slow distance and hill work. He is currently shod in the front and barefoot in the back and kept on a regular 6-8 week interval. He also receives chiropractic adjustments every 6 months. He is offered for sale as his owner is retiring from riding after suffering injuries from non horse related sports. This horse has been well loved and well cared for and has a lot of life and love left to share. Located in Aguanga CA just outside of Temecula. Priced in the mid 4s. Vet checks welcome. I have a lot of references for this horse from farrier, his chiropractor, his caretakers/handlers, endurance riders and trail riders etc. You are welcome to speak with any of them! Lots of photos and videos available!
