Sole Volante (affectionately called Sid) is a 2017, 16.1hh gelding who I acquired back in March of 2023 from a racing connection we have in Florida as a hopeful eventer for myself or a long term resale project if eventing wasn’t his jam. Long story short, I got him home and had my vet check for a lameness we weren’t aware of and he had some healing and new damage to his suspensory at that time. My vet thought it was partially due to long pasterns and bad hoof angles at the time. Unfortunately, as much as a I would love to have him forever, I don’t have the time to dedicate to him nor the extra funds to float a “for fun” personal horse. It is possible given the right rehab regimen and therapies that he is able to go back into a heavier work load, I just don’t have the resources to put into that endeavor to find out. He is the sweetest guy and loves attention and to be loved on. He’s currently sound, LOVES to trail ride and walk on the buckle even in a halter and bareback, laid back personality but NOT FOR A BEGINNER, lovely gaits, loves turnout and friends, has not been restarted truly from the track though, UTD on everything, etc.
