Goldie is a family oriented gelding that can ride with some class for the adults, yet gentle enough for the young kids to ride around. If you are looking for a horse to bond with and spend time with outside of riding- Goldie is your guy. He has a walk, trot and lope that is smooth as silk, as well as a nice deep stop and smooth transitions. He has a one handed neck rein, and will move willingly off of your leg cues. This versatile gelding has been used everywhere from feedlots and sale barns, sorting & loading trucks, regular arena riding, to trail riding in Metroparks- it’s safe to say he’s familiar with a hard day’s work! Goldie does great out on the trail, carefully placing his feet to take care of his rider in any situation. We recently hauled him on a weekend camping trip, where he trail rode with 10 other horses. He led and followed great on the trail, and was unbothered being in a completely new group of horses. He gets along great with the other horses in the pasture, and has no vices pulling him out of the stall on Monday morning. Goldie stands quietly for the farrier, and will ground tie until you tell him differently. He is the perfect size for a rider with bad knees, as he is easy to get on and off on the trail. He has been exposed to all farm machinery, equipment, road traffic, gunfire, deer, cattle- you name it. He is sound and up to date on teeth, vaccines, coggins, and health paper. This gelding has been nothing short of a pleasure to work with since he stepped foot on our property. No matter what direction you want to go, this phenomenal gelding will be sure to take you there. He has all the buttons: side pass, turn around, leg yield, but just as easily-point and go. Gentle, flashy and broke, with unlimited potential!
