Ruchama "Rue" 15 year old, grade mare quarter horse, palomino. Excellent ground manners. Loads and unloads perfect and stands to be tacked and mounted. She is shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she is very sweet and loves affection. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body and never intentionally tries to hurt anyone. She comes up for treats and grain and is easy to catch (once she gets to know you). Coggins up to date. Routine ferrier and teeth recently floated in April 2024. No lamness, bite, kick, cribbing, or any known health issues. She is barefoot and maintains weight well off grass/hay. She stalls fine, but gets anxiety when stalled alone. I purchased her in January of this year, and she is not as broke as I was initially told she was. With a trainer, Rue has undergone a few sessions under saddle, but still needs training at the w/t/c levels. She is very sensitive and responds best with leg pressure rather than being kicked. She is also intimidated by a hard handler, so handler needs to be soft or she will get nervous and shut down. She is not spooky at all but does get nervous when unsure. Her first response when she is unsure is to stop and stand there. As she is right now, she would make a good trail horse, following behind other horses. She is also very sensitive about her ears. She HATES anyone touching her ears. I've been working with her on this and we've made some slight progress. We recently had a chiropractor out and had her adjusted end of May 2024, as we were wanting to rule out stiffness while she was being trained under saddle. Rue is also branded on her left front shoulder, "625", which I was later told meant she was a recip mare in her past life. After working with Rue for several months I've come to decide she needs more work than I am able to handle on my own. Due to these reasons, I have to rehome her. Price is negotiable. My main priority is that she go to a loving home.
