This is a chance to own a Maples Squirrel granddaughter that can be bred or ridden! Skye was born at my house in Napa and sold as a yearling. She was lightly started at age 3 and then put on the back burner and only used as a pack horse on camping trips. I bought her back in 2021, had her restarted under saddle and certified to breed. She gave me a beautiful filly in 2023. Only selling because I’ve retired from breeding.
This mare is VERY naturally gaited and is now going out on the trail, which she enjoys. She is nicely forward but not a speed demon and walks out like she has somewhere to go! Skye was being ridden out a lot alone, but my local trainer left the state. She’s last ridden mid-September. She has no health problems or vices and is very sweet in temperament. She would do best with a confident rider on the trail, that can keep exposing her to new things. She’s very light and sensitive to seat and leg cues. She will ride out alone, cross bridges, and is working on getting more confident crossing water (when we can find it this time of year!) She is good for ferrier and UTD on all vaccines and health care. She has LOTS of miles left on her because of her light use. Her color is a chocolate with a crème gene, giving her the beautiful hazel colored eyes and lighter coat color.
