Gunnar is a 14 year old Hanoverian/TB 15.3H eventing gelding with tons of experience and the scope and talent to be a pure show jumper as well. He competed through modified (3’5”) in Virginia with a junior rider who left for college, before being a first eventing partner for a second junior, taking her to Area VIII champs at beginner novice and multiple sanctioned events, in Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida until she went off to college last August. Since then, he quickly moved up to training level again in Area VIII with a competent adult amateur ending with a successful training level outing at Team Challenge at KHP in October of 2023. This spring he just completed his 51st sanctioned event finishing 6th in open training at the IEA horse trials.
His AA rider is jumping full stadium courses at modifed and prelim at home, and he is next entered at Midsouth HT in Lexington, KY. Selling because current rider does not have time for two training level horses while working full time. Sound with no maintenance, trailers great, cross ties, easy keeper, but not for a beginner beginner because he can get a little spooky with noises behind him, doesn’t buck or rear but scoots occasionally. Has trail ridden with his junior rider, rides bareback, solid dressage horse, participated in mounted games and pony club. Not overly sensitive to the leg but has plenty of go. We love this guy and hate to see him go but are sadly too short on time.
