Atlas is a four-year-old draft cross Gelding. He has everything you could look for in an equine partner: looks, brains, and a very willing attitude. He is safe for any level of rider. He has been used to giving beginners their first ride and experienced veterans just looking to have fun. Atlas is traffic-safe to ride or drive. He can ride single or double. Atlas has been used to pony young colts as well as stubborn Broncs. He handles it all with a very gentle disposition and calm demeanor. He’s drug calves and just moved cows out in the pasture. He will side pass to a mounting block to make it easier to get on or off! He will lay down on cue! You can crack a whip while standing on his back or lying down! Gunshots do not bother him; I can even fire a shotgun while standing his back! He rides in a bit, halter, or even bridleless in many situations! This gentle giant is willing to listen and can be taught about anything. He also excels with children! He has been used for several weeks as a lesson horse for a local therapeutic riding academy. He has ridden many miles on the trails in various terrain. He easily crosses downed logs and water. He goes up or down hills at a safe, gentle pace. He rides great with a group or out alone with no issues. Small trails in the timber or open fields make no difference. He has been desensitized to tarps, teeter-totter bridges, balls, bullwhips, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, flatbed trailers, pool noodles, and just about anything else we could think of, including musicians picking and grinning from his back! Atlas will easily load/unload from any style trailer. He stands great for the farrier, enjoys bathing, and loves being rubbed and scratched. All this at just four years old!! Atlas has been a joy to have in our barn, and he will make someone a tremendous lifelong mount!
