Breezy (JC Ziggys Storm) is a young 7 year old (2017) OTTB mare looking for her perfect match. Retired completely sound after a few years and even fewer races, but does have an old injury from a poor decision she made as a weanling - but is sound and will pass a PPE. Breezy is looking for an intermediate (working with a trainer or with OTTB experience themselves) or advanced rider to bring out the best in her. It’s not because she is naughty under saddle, but rather she has some OTTB stuff that is best addressed by those who know what they are doing. Her ideal next friend is someone who knows the quirks and habits a track life can create and is able to work through them patiently and calmly. No bossy strong-arming types need apply! Missy B loves having a job and a human leader and needs to be in regular exercise (every other day is working nicely for us with this heat), whether it be lunging or riding. She thinks it is great fun to jump and can take a joke if you make a mistake. Her companion (me) rides like a limp noodle currently but she has saved my butt once or twice when I lose my balance on a landing. Sure, she rolls her eyes like an annoyed teenager when I do that, but she hasn’t turned into full mean girl about my noodleness! Despite being a lovely, long-legged (16.2hh) athlete with beautiful, lofty, floaty fun to ride gaits, Breezy isn’t convinced she is awesome, yet. This is where you come in. With a rider with the right skills, she would give anything a try. Does have a show record and was successfully shown at WEC Ohio after only 4 months after he last race. The potential is limitless with the right person! Breezy wants you to know she’s not a high maintenance kind of gal when it comes to giving her the care she deserves. No big shoe budget needed for this girl as she is successfully sound in full work completely barefoot. Breezy is a social butterfly and loves living out with a mixed herd and wants every single horse to be her new friend. She does enjoy a good warm stall to call her own after playing all day and she hates to be wet (but stands beautifully for a shower) and being able to get out of weather that can make her wet is her preference. She doesn’t think cribbing or weaving is necessary, but she very likely would decide to try those hobbies if fully stalled, so a combo of turnout/stall is her ideal situation. She enjoys a good meal. She attributes her lovely figure to a good balanced diet of free feed grass pasture, as much Orchard Hay as she wants, grain, a few supplements to even her out during “that time” and then plenty of exercise. And not just run until she's super sweaty. She enjoys being able to engage her brain while exercising. If you are someone who loves to help polish a gem from the inside out with patience and love, Breezy is one who will return it in spades. I will be picky finding the right fit for this girl, but for the perfect home I am willing to be creative.
