Chief has a really cute face and is a super flashy leopard Appaloosa with tons of real world experience roping and doing all of the ranch chores. He's a calm, cool, chill guy and he's had tons of miles on trail, on the road and around the ranch and he's as solid as they come. We feel like he'll make someone a fantastic trail horse but he's got enough buttons and training to be taken in multiple directions. Our 6 year old loves taking him for walks around the ranch and she can easily take him anywhere even over the obstacles and up the tilt trailer. Whether you're looking for a smooth and dependable trail horse for yourself or your family Chief is a fantastic mount. He's experienced, reasonable and doesn't shy away from deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, or anything else you can throw at him. He has an easy neck rein, a dependable stop, and can easily pick up his leads. He rates his speed, opens gates, does all the ranch chores, sidepasses, can ride on a loose rein or in light contact, direct reins, drives cattle, carries the flag, crosses water, crosses logs and easily goes over steps and teeter totters. He can ride out alone and in a group. Chief is smart and curious but he’s all business when you saddle him up and he knows his job well. He has been exposed to barking dogs, UTV’s, tractors, trucks and cars, leaf blowers, welding, quads, dirt bikes, coyotes, ducks, donkeys, bison, cows, tarps, balls, flags loud noises and snow. He's been turned out on pasture with many other geldings without any trouble and is the same dependable guy day in and day out. Chief has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance. More gentle horses available on our website www.lazyoakshorses.com
