South Steens Lollipop "Lolli" is a sweet, gentle 3 Yr. old pinto mare on the smaller size 13.3. Lolli is BLM Titled, she has been ridden out alone and with one other rider and usually with a dog along. Lolli has not been ridden in groups or at shows or had multiple riders. Lolli has been all over the high desert mountains, been around the wild horses, deer, elk, birds of all kinds, geese, ducks they don't bother her. She fine with water, the slough runs through our place, so she's used to crossing it, goes right across creeks, bogs. Lolli is quiet, wants caught, you can put her anywhere, stall, small pen, pasture, move her around she's fine. When you separate when riding she never makes a sound or is concerned about leaving. She ties, loads, great about feet, shots worming, sprays etc. Lolli never took to a bit so we started her in a halter and now ride her in a leather side pull. One day my husband forgot her bridle, so he rigged up a lead rope for reins and rode her in her halter and she was no different. Her negative points are although she doesn't paw normally, she will paw in the trailer, usually it's longer hauls, sometimes she doesn't other times she does. We've been hanging a hay net in with her with grass hay for her to pick at and that seems to help. The other thing that might bother someone is she wants to go, she travels fast, you can put her behind and slow her down. Sometimes she's content to travel at a normal pace but sometimes she just looks to the horizon and wants to go. Probably make a great little Endurance Horse, just goes and goes and goes. Lolli isn't real spooky but she'll look at something sometimes, but you can bring her right up to it with no problem. A middle to advanced rider because a beginner would probably want to pull on her. She is sweet, gentle mare, she just likes to get out and cover some country. Tough as they come, goes up hills like a mountain goat, great stamina. Been barefoot the whole time and her feet hold up and we ride in some miserable rocky country. Because of her smaller size she needs a smaller/lighter rider. We are picky about the homes our Mustangs go to. We prefer someplace with some acreage, so they have time to run. If you are interested, please tell me about your level of riding experience and your facilities, etc. Pictures always help. So many good qualities but she does have a few negatives so think about it. Lots of pictures and videos on our Heart B Ranch Page on fb both on the feed and in the Photos File under her name "Lolli". I do have photos of her out in the wild includes her dam and most likely sire, she was gathered as a yearling.
