Midge is a gorgeous 13 hand haflinger mare that is extremely gentle, safe and kind. She’s the best & we really love her so she will only be sold to the very best home. She is stout with good bone and a good foot and can carry a grown person with ease. She is really broke and is soft in the face, carries her head level and has a great stop. She goes on a loose rein and jogs around cute and will lope right off when asked. She is super easy to ride and a joy every time you step on her. She doesn’t care about anything you want to do with her.
Midge is the ULTIMATE ranch pony suitable for all tasks needed including gathering, penning, driving cattle up the allies and loading trucks. The kids have drug calves on her. She’s perfect to go prowl pastures looking for strays or to check fence lines. She has also been ponied off another horse, She will stay ride beside the lead horse.
She’s been used at junior rodeos to move bucking stock, push the roping cattle up and push bucking bulls back to the gates. We’ve tracked and roped the sled and live cattle on her. She’ll track right in behind one and shows a lot of interest. She could make a really cool rope horse finished out.
If you don’t have a ranch no worries because Midge is also a fantastic trail riding pony. She’s really fun to take on trails and will go anywhere through brush, across water, up and down steep hills, over logs and bridges and down the road. She’ll ride out alone just as good as she will with a group.
