Tango is a beloved pet as well as a very reliable trail horse. He has lovely ground manners, loads easy, and is soft mouthed. He is placid enough that I have ponied him from my horse for my young grandchildren and elderly relatives to "go for a ride". He was raised on a ranch in Salmon so is very comfortable in rough country. He was not ridden at all until he was 5, and that was only very light arena saddle training, because of his size. He did spend a summer in the pack string, learning to carry noisy weird things on his back, like all the young horses from the ranch he came from. He has been lightly used as a pleasure/trail horse since he was 6. He has a decent running walk if you are on a long pretty level area, but he doesn't tend to use it much. It could be enhanced with training, but it wasn't something I concentrated on because we were pretty much just riding mountain trails. He is not a dominant horse. He will take the lead if asked, but prefers to follow. He is only for sale because his rider can no longer safely ride because of health reasons. Because we are having to stop riding, he can go to his new home with his tack and quite a bit of horse gear; including a brand new set of over the saddle packs if this is desired by his new family. Please call or text for additional information and photos.
