"Katie" is a papered 2001 Solid Paint Mare that stands 16 hands and weighs 1,200 lbs. I have used her for a wide variety of things and she is always willing to try anything. She has done hundreds of miles of trail miles in all kinds of terrain, crossing downfalls, water and bridges, soggy pasture bottoms, rock and shale of which she travels through it all with ease. She'll cross shallow creeks and wade into deep ponds. She rides out alone or in a group ( but prefers a group). She will ride out in front or be happy to follow along. She will go wherever you point her to go although she can be noisy when made to leave the pack. Her only vice is that she is insecure by herself and will whinney for others. She is not barn sour though. "Katie" has handled numerous amount of cattle experience from sorting, gathering and dragging calves to the fire. You can open and close gates on her, and I have ponied numerous other horses off her at a time. She is large farm equipment and traffic broke. She could be a wonderful 4H horse for the right little person. She likes bathes and is easy to clip. She neck reins, moves off your leg and knows her leads. She is easy to catch and loves people. She gets along with others, but spent the most of her life with geldings at the bottom of the pecking order. She is not concerned with other animals like dogs, cats, chickens, etc. Loads and hauls good, and is often loaded loose and saddled in a stock trailer with other ranch horses. You can rope off of her in an arena, but she has not ever been competed on. All her rope experience is mostly in pastures and at the branding pen. She is good to shoe but is currently barefoot. She is a super easy keeper. If you are looking for that weekend trail riding horse to go riding with your friends or gather the cows on, yet still great for the grandkids to hang from her tail, this is the horse for you. She is fitted and has lots of miles to go. I have owned her for 20 years so a good home is a must. Call or Text for details or with questions
