Landsdrop Nisse is an exceptional yearling brown dun fjord filly (gray dun recessive) out of PF Gra Violet by imported stallion Bastian Vom Oderhaff. Nisse ("NEE-SAH") is a treasure and so sweet. She wants to be with people and she is the one to say “yes” if you’re looking for a partner or an equine BFF. She follows me around and requests nose kisses first thing each day, so her ideal person would be someone who enjoys a curious and happy horse. This pairing has produced successful breeding stallion Landsdrop Nyx (owned by Hughey Family Fjords in Montana) and Landsdrop Tiril, who I've retained for my small broodmare band. She should mature over 14hh, but within breed standard. Her build is going to be moderate to drafty, with enough substance to be a very typey fjord but the athleticism and attitude to do anything her new owner might like to do - dressage, working equitation, competitive trail, not-so-competitive trail. She also would be a fantastic addition to any quality fjord breeding program and can produce gray dun with the right stallion. Conformationally correct, beautiful head, sweet, smart, bold, friendly. Handled daily. Recently recovered from an eye ulcer, but should have no lasting damage. Her eyesight is good. Both sire and dam have outstanding dispositions and this young mare will be an amazing partner - happy and cooperative. About her sire: Bastian Vom Oderhaff scored 83/100 and earned a Canadian Red/US Blue ribbon for conformation. Breed Type is crucial for Fjords – it evaluates presence, attitude, personality, substance of bone, and gender expression (masculinity). He scored an 8.75/10. During a 2006 Fjord Horse International (FHI) Board of Directors meeting at Eike and Suzanne Schoen-Petersen's farm (Oderhaff) in Germany, Brian and Ursula Jensen took a tour and saw Bastian, a weanling who won best Fjord foal in his state in 2005. Brian Jensen, an NFHR evaluator, persuaded Eike and Suzanne to sell him. In March 2007, Bastian arrived in Canada. In 2015, Bastian was sold to Kelly White and imported to Texas, USA. Bastian is 14.1 hands, moderate build. He’s a quiet, well-mannered stallion trained to drive and ride. Trained for dressage by a USDF gold medalist, he scored exceptionally well with limited showing. Bastian's disposition is unrivaled. He's sweet and trustworthy. Under saddle, he adjusts his energy to his rider's skill level. His progeny are willing, curious, and friendly. They’re keepers and heart horses. To meet Bastian is to fall in love with horses all over again.
