Lt. Dan is a solid horse and one of my favorites to ever throw a saddle on. Unfortunately my life has taken a wrong turn and I need to sell him, and it breaks my heart because this fella is my bestfriend. He has papers somewhere but I never received them. I was told he is out of Hancock and Peppy San Badger lines. I know he was a stallion about a year or two prior to me buying him and has colts. He was previously used on a ranch in Oklahoma and he is also a finished head and heel horse and won money. I do not have videos of this but have spoken to others who owned him and used him. He is very cowy and will get down when working and sorting cattle. He’s very quick on his feet. I have played on the barrels with him but he isn’t a finished barrel horse. VICES- He does require some maintenance with his teeth and hooves. He has to have medication for both to be done. Equine dentist aged him between 6-11 years old. He will only load in a trailer if you load in with him. He cannot sit up because he will get fresh. He’s okay on trails but is very watchy. He is not exactly traffic broke but he does okay. He requires an experienced rider who can handle him, he is a stout guy and can get hardheaded. He will try you to see what he can get away with but once you show him he isnt boss he will be good as gold for you and do whatever you ask. He needs someone who will use him and let him shine. He really is a great horse and I hate to let him go. A lot of his vices can be easily fixed with the right person who has the time and patience. I’ve worked with him on a lot and he is improving. He rides best in an O Ring twisted wire snaffle. My 11year old does ride him but I will not sell him as a kids horse by any means. His price is LIGHTLY negotiable.
