Ziggy is a newly 4 year old perlino Tennessee Walking Horse/Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse mare. She is gaited. Standing at least 15 hands high and still growing. Zig is physically striking with her unique looks and long mane and tail, but her personality is where she really shines. Ziggy is my heart horse. I’ve had her since she was a yearling with the intention of raising her as a trail horse and saving money to eventually buy my own land. Given today’s economy, that did not happen, and my personal situation has changed significantly. It breaks my heart to have to give her up - I love her so very much - but the best I can hope for is that someone will appreciate her as much as I do. She is a very brave horse - not scared of much at all, and is very comfortable with people (which is both a positive and negative at times). She is incredibly curious and inquisitive. She is very goofy and loves physical affection from her person. She’s healthy, stands well for the farrier (barefoot her whole life with no problems, is used to having hooves trimmed via angle grinder) and vet. Because of her forward nature, Ziggy does need someone who will set firm boundaries for her while still allowing her curious nature to shine. Ziggy has not been saddled or ridden, but she is definitely ready for someone to work with her on these things. She is incredibly smart and picks up on things quickly (great at yielding to pressure for backing up, pivoting on front and back). I know she will be a great horse for someone who has time to devote to her. She truly is one of a kind. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Again, it hurts to have to give her up, but circumstance being what it is, it’s what is best for her. I adore this girl, and I hope someone else will value what makes her so special to me. I am only going to let her go to the home I feel will be the best fit.
