If you are looking for an athletic up for anything gritty mare, Spice just might be your girl!! She is naturally a more forward mover and wants a job but is always controllable even bridleless! She is quick, catty, athletic, FAST, has great movement and scope, not to mention absolutely stunning to boot! She is considered a varnish roan which is an Appaloosa trait. In the spring/summer she is mostly white and as she starts growing her winter coat, that turns to a dark chestnut with rabicano type markings as well as appaloosa leopard spots. I have always been more of a quarter horse girl but I would have given anything to have a horse like this when I was a kid. I don’t think I have ever ridden a horse her size with as much athleticism and speed as this little mare has. We call her mountain goat because she will go literally anywhere you point and loves challenging terrain. Spice has absolutely great feet and is barefoot even on all this rock. She has good ground manners and will stand tied, is good for the farrier, self load, stand for saddling, etc. She has been taken through the barrels and poles and absolutely would excel quickly!! Spice has a huge motor and can go all day but is not a run away and will only go as fast as you ask her to. She would also be great for endurance and I have a reference from an endurance rider that came and tried her and absolutely loved her! Spice has been used on the ranch and is only for sale because her owner moved cross country and needed bigger horses to drag and doctor cattle on a large operation. Spice has a great handle and has been exposed to a lot. She excels out on the trails but she has HUGE scope for jumping and LOVES it!! She can clear 4 foot from a stand still! She would be great for a youth or smaller adult that wanted to do anything and everything. She has a heart the size of Texas and will never quit on you. Not to mention she is built perfect and you can’t find a bad angle on her. She is up to date on coggins, just had her teeth floated, and can easily get a health certificate to go out of state if needed.
