We are sadly needing to rehome our two horses. After many happy years in Texas, work have decided to relocate us overseas and we can’t take the horses with us. Red came from a very bad situation. After auction, he’d found himself in a slaughter lot in Tennessee. He was dejected, bruised and indifferent to people. We’ve had him as a pasture pet and companion for nearly 8 years. He’s been ridden occasionally but I would not claim that he is broken in and ready to ride. Red would be best suited as a companion. He’s in amazing health and has no problem keeping his condition through winter. He currently has 24/7 access to a large pasture and stables. At the first sound of thunder or drop of rain he will gallop full speed to his stable and won’t leave until all rain has passed! We’d love to be able to find somewhere that can indulge him with the same creature comforts he’s become accustomed to! He's excellent with the vet, farrier and he genuinely enjoys being groomed. On cold days we rug him and we have no problems throwing on the blanket and messing around with belly straps. He’s also excellent about fly spray, medicine. He’s very stoic and I’m not sure he enjoys the attention or human touch, but he certainly doesn’t behave badly. We currently feed him twice a day, but more to have him in the routine of waiting by the gate, so we don’t have to walk around the field trying to find him. He is stunning to look at and if we were staying in the USA I would absolutely keep him. He currently lives with a miniature pony. I’d love to see them go together but would understand if that’s not possible. Red would enjoy having other horse friends to hang out with. I don’t ever want to see him end up in a slaughter lot again, so we would like to come and visit his new home to check out where he’ll be kept. Thank you for considering giving Red a loving new home where he can continue to enjoy the life he deserves. Red comes with all of his rugs, feed buckets etc.
