Simon is stout and sweet as can be. He gets along in the herd of mom and 2 other young mares and is acclimating to everyday life wonderfully. He will be easy to wean and will be ready to go in the fall of 2024! He meets you at the gate, easy to halter, leads around the property on his own and looks for adventure. He has gotten handled since birth and it shows. He knows how to walk and trot in hand as well as back, move his hinds, and move his front end. He’s seen our cows from afar as well as our stud on the property and he handles himself well. He stands for bathing, farrier, tied alone, and clipping. He has rode in the trailer a few times with his mom and was unfazed. He just does whatever! I have lightly started R+ training for fun and he’s so willing to learn anything. He knows touch/object and walk and trot next to you, stop, back, turn both ways all without a halter/lead. He walks over logs, bridges, tarps. Currently on high quality free choice grass/mix hay 1st cutting and eats a small meal morning and night of alfalfa pellets, Omneity Premix, and ricebran. He’s started out on grass too. His condition is amazing and he’ll develop into one beautiful boy! He is currently weaning and doing great. He will be ready to leave in August.
Our dry lot was extremely muddy this spring (a much needed project we are going to be doing this summer/fall) leaving his feather a little burnt off but I have started conditioning them regularly so should be able to revive them! Lol
He’s my personal first foal birthed here at my farm, it will be very sad to see to part with him, but he is looking for his perfect🏡. He is currently intact (fully dropped at birth). Will let go gelded or not and can discuss that with inquiring mom/dad. I have put time and love into this boy, as I will every foal, to make sure he has the absolute best start for a bright future 🌟
