Bentley is a sturdy steady Eddy. Anyone can ride him, but he does best with a confident rider. He is calm, cool, and most times not reactionary to new things. Used mostly for trail riding and has ridden over 10,000 trail miles in the last 7 1/2 years. He has won Obstacle Challenges and would excel at ranch riding, trail classes, or western dressage. Smooth trot and canter, stops on a dime, and has great lead departure. He camps, day rides, and has been hauled all over the southeastern US. Will go through anything. Leads, follows, or can be in the middle of the pack. Has no problem going out on the trail or camping alone. Does not need a buddy (just you). Can be turned out with a mixed group or alone. Great with dogs. Not much bothers him, but he does not particularly care for wild boars. Will walk by, but lets you know he doesn’t like them. Great around heavy machinery, prescribed burns, vehicles, and bicycles. Goes through any water and has been to the beach many times. He has been in parades. Does not love them, but as with everything he does, he is willing if you ask him. Wonderful & respectful ground manners. Will stand tied to the trailer or at the barn for hours. Not a pushy horse. He has been used a few times for a day camp horse for kids and they love him, and he loves the attention.
He was diagnosed with Navicular changes in March and is sound with regular steel front shoes and no other maintenance. Sales price reflects this. Up to date on all shots/Coggins/teeth floating/health certificate.
