2015 Chestnut Grade Gelding "Bud"

Bud is a true gentle giant. At 16hh and wide, he can carry just about anybody, but is gentle enough for the little ones. I broke him as a 3yo and had been riding him myself until the pony my brother had been using was having some trouble with soundness and I swapped my 6 or 7 year old brother to the 6 year old. He has extremely smooth gaits, knows his leads, can do in gait transitions, neckrein or plow rein, sidepasses, etc etc. He's been rodeoed on, but never pushed. Stays in great flesh on pasture. Safe on the road and anywhere by himself or in a group. Is the top of the pecking order but not nasty.

Onto the short list of negatives. 1. He is blind in his right eye. Every video here except the pole one (just didn't have more recent of me rodeoing on him) is after he lost his vision. I have vet records for checking it out and treating it, and the only maintenance is its recommended to have a UV blocking fly mask. 2. He has soft front feet. He is touchy over gravel sometimes when barefoot, but shoes or hoofboots on front fixes that (I have a pair of front hoofboots I could sell with him).
