Nightshade is a wonderful horse we have used around the farm her entire life. She has been our go-to horse for new riders, and my aunt when she started riding again after foot surgery. Nightshade is a dream to handle, she leads, loads, stands tied, highlines, hobbles, rides alone or in groups. She can ride front, middle, or in the back. She is perfect for the farrier, can pony other horses and is great for fly spray. She stands to be saddled and mounted. She is trained to stand beside the mounting block/ a rock/ log etc. Nightshade has done multiple overnight camping trips in the mountains, cattle round ups, and trail rides around eastern Washington. She is gaited and can do the running walk and pace. Nightshade can canter and also does the flying pace. She has been wonderful with beginners both in an arena and on the trails. She is also fun to ride for experienced riders as she is not a lazy horse and is well broke to leg cues. She crosses bridges, running water, mud, logs, and has been through man made trail courses as well. Nightshade has never been lame, doesn't have any vices-no buck/bolt/bite etc. We foaled her once and she was an excellent mother. Her only downfall is she can be hard to catch out on pasture. She knows join up and will face up to be caught when she's not out on big pastures. She also has spring allergies to one of the weeds on our farm. She gets itchy and will rub hair off her face. To manage this we either dry lot her or put her on cetirizine(antihistamine) for a short period of time when her allergies start. Nightshade has primarily been my aunts riding horse the last few years. She is available for sale because she is taller than my aunt wants to ride at 15.3HH and my aunt now has a shorter mule to ride. Pictures available on request, no videos.
